The Cassia Regional Medical Center Emergency and Radiology Department expansion is the first step in a master plan recently created for the hospital. The expansion project includes a redesign of the Emergency Department flow, including improved visibility from the nurse station to exam rooms, and decreased travel distances to key support areas such as clean and soiled holding rooms. A three bed observation unit has also been included within the Emergency Department to provide overflow capacity for the ED, increase capacity in the Inpatient Unit, and support overall hospital needs for observation. Expansion plans also include an improved entry process for Radiology as well as the addition of a fixed MRI, a NUC MED room, and a second ultrasound.
