UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY, LOGAN, UTAH
Located on the campus of Utah State University, the Edith Bowen Laboratory School replacement building is a two-story structure built in the limited open space on the site of the existing building. It was designed for construction in two phases so as not to interrupt the use of the existing building or require the use of temporary classrooms. In addition to the spaces normally housed in an elementary school, the building contains separate art, science, music and orchestra rooms, and a 400-seat auditorium.
The configuration of the new building creates a large student entry courtyard and playground sheltered from the main activity of the university with an appropriate entrance and presence on its university campus side.
