The new 29,000 sf Mark I. Payne clinical and administrative building at the Utah State Hospital will house the new patient clinics including optometry, dental, podiatry, and neurology exam spaces. The central campus pharmacy is also being relocated here. The building will be the new home of the Sunrise substance abuse group therapy class and lecture programs with 5,000 sf of new space dedicated to those uses. Volunteer services, medical records, and staff education functions are included in the building program as well. It has been designed with separate entrances for staff and patients, with circulation inside the building completely separated. Secure access systems provide controlled access to the pharmacy, in and out of the clinic, and between public and staff circulation.
