The smart car design philosophy is identified with their brand logo denoting a letter “c” for “compact” and an arrow for “forward thinking”. This philosophy is reflected in design by tucking the addition into the existing Mercedes structure, and with the use of modern engineered building materials such as Low-E aluminum storefront, composite metal panel facia and entry portal, and European Contemporary furnishings.
The small space has all the amenities of a larger dealership. There are distinct areas for waiting, parts and accessory display, new car display, sales, and new car delivery. Other services are shared within the Mercedes building.
The previous car delivery bay and curtain wall and overhead entry doors were removed, and existing building utilities were extended to serve the space.
The project consisted of providing an addition to an existing Mercedes dealership built in 2000 and delivered using a design build approach with the contractor.
