South Davis Community Hospital currently provides specialty care for complex respiratory therapy adult and pediatric patients, LTAC services, orthopaedic rehabilitation, assisted living, and home health and hospice services. As a next step in their continuation of community support and care, initial planning has begun for a new four-story inpatient tower. The goal of the project is to provide a new building that visually matches the state-of-the-art technology and healthcare expertise that happens within the facility, while still providing a warm and soothing atmosphere for patients and families.
Another important goal is to promote greater interaction with the community. A unique approach is being proposed of including a movie theater, an auditorium, an ice cream parlor, an outpatient pharmacy, outpatient physical therapy, and an outpatient clinic. The goal is to invite the community in to provide greater interaction for patients, and increased amenities for the community. The program will also provide greater opportunities for patients and families to spend time together.
The clinical program includes approximately 100 additional inpatient beds including an LTAC inpatient unit, a transitional care unit, and a pediatric unit to better serve the community.
