River Rock Casino
Geyserville, California

FFKR was brought into this project after the initial conceptual design had been prepared by another architectural firm. Our involvement was a result of our previous association with the selected management group.

The project site is approximately one and a half hour north of San Francisco in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country. This phase of the project is a temporary facility with limited parking as the first step in a much larger anticipated development. A fabric structure was selected because it could be rapidly assembled and later removed from the site.

An arts and crafts/bungalow style was selected for the interior design and the exterior trellis system because of the close association of this style with California's wine country and its extensive use in the existing housing in the vicinity. The building has been sited and organized so that patrons can look over the vineyards below the site. The trellis covered terrace is an extension of a wine tasting room/night club. From this terrace, the Alexander Valley and the Russian River are visible below.
