IM Flash Technologies Campus Tenant Improvement

Over 1600 tech employees report to work at the IM Flash Technologies campus in Lehi. This state-of-the-art chip manufacturing facility (memory wafers to flash drives) comprises 2.3 million square feet of building space with some office space for engineering and fabrication support staff. Competition is fierce for tech employees in Utah’s “Silicon Slopes” corridor and attracting talent means creating a great work “place.” The design objective for this tenant improvement project was to re-imagine the office and in-between spaces to create a more open and cohesive work environment for the employees.

The design aesthetically connects the office spaces to manufacturing areas through the use of visually similar elements including yellow glass reminiscent of the yellow lighting in the fabrication/manufacturing area. Exposed steel materials and perforated steel screen details echo manufacturing spaces in the office and collaborative spaces, creating an interactive, stimulating work environment that ensures employees feel like they are a part of something important. Natural materials, textures, and colors create a comfortable working environment.

FFKR Architects also provided construction administration services for a mechanical systems upgrade for the facility during the TI project.
